Manila, July 8 -- Office of Civil Defense (OCD) national and regional units, especially those in extreme Northern Luzon, have been on "blue alert" or "heightened monitoring" for the past few days in preparation for the possible impact of Super Typhoon Inday (international name Bavi).

In an interview over Radyo Pilipinas on Wednesday, OCD spokesperson Junie Castillo said all OCD units in Region 1 (Ilocos Region), Region 2 (Cagayan), and the National Capital Region (NCR) have been closely monitoring the weather disturbance.

"Ilang araw na pong nakataas ang 'blue alert' status (The'blue alert status' has been up for several days already)," Castillo said when asked about OCD's preparations for the super typhoon.
