Manila, Sept. 14 -- When the "habagat" rains poured down anew at the end of August, millions found themselves wading through floodwaters again.

Among those affected were motorists on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), who found themselves stuck for hours following flooding in San Simon, Pampanga that spilled over to a portion of the road near the Tulaoc Bridge.

Given the situation on NLEX during the habagat, the road operator provided a toll relief for those traveling between Pulilan, Bulacan and San Fernando, Pampanga in both directions without the need for any claim forms or queues. This follows President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to provide relief to motorists affected by flooding near the Tulaoc Bridge.
