Manila, Oct. 23 -- Employees of the News and Information Bureau (NIB) and the Bureau of Communications Services (BCS) joined the "Plant for Life" tree-planting activity of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. on Thursday at the La Mesa Nature Reserve in Quezon City.

A total of 400 Dungon and Makaasim seedlings were planted during the activity, which forms part of Maynilad's long-running watershed protection program aimed at maintaining the water quality of La Mesa Dam, Metro Manila's last rainforest and main water source.

NIB Planning Officer Joyal Eser said the initiative highlights the shared responsibility of government and private institutions in addressing environmental challenges.
