Manila, Oct. 1 -- The yellow alert status in the Visayas grid for Wednesday (Oct. 1, 2025) has been shortened by three hours, from the earlier schedule of between 1 p.m. to 12 midnight to just until 9 p.m., following the restoration of several power plants and their generating units.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines reported earlier in the day that 27 power plants became unavailable following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that hit Cebu Tuesday night, thus, the issuance of a yellow alert status for the Visayas grid.

Based on its 3 p.m. advisory, NGCP said the available capacity of the Visayas grid is now at around 2,052 megawatts (MW) while peak demand is about 1,868MW.
