Manila, June 29 -- A new National Cyber Security Center (NSCS) is expected to enhance the country's cyber defense capabilities, modernize security infrastructure, and develop a supporting workforce during its groundbreaking in Valenzuela City on Monday.

In a media interview after the ceremony, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda said the NCSC will be the first cybersecurity infrastructure to be wholly owned by the government, with two other similar infrastructures in Quezon City that the agency leases.
