Manila, Aug. 28 -- A new learning facility worth PHP12.9 million has been established to provide a permanent space for out-of-school youth and adults who want to pursue their studies through the alternative learning system (ALS).

Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the facility is an upskilling initiative promoted by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. regarding education.

"With this ALS facility, we can accommodate even walk-in learners. Traditionally, ALS teachers would visit learners' homes, but this new center offers a spacious and convenient environment for them," he said in an interview.
