Manila, May 19 -- A total of 938 fuel stations nationwide are now implementing the PHP10-per-liter Fuel Subsidy Program (FSP) for eligible public utility jeepney and UV Express drivers to help cushion the impact of higher oil prices.

"Every driver who depends on the road to earn a living deserves a fuel station nearby that can serve them under this program. Under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., we are working hard to make sure that happens," Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said in a statement Tuesday.

The initiative - part of the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Program - provides qualified drivers up to PHP1,500 per vehicle per week for three months.
