MANILA, Oct. 3 -- Funds to be used to help energy sector players in Masbate may be sourced through the National Electrification Administration's (NEA) quick response fund, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said Friday.

Earlier, she placed the cost of damage on Masbate's power sector due to the impact of Severe Tropical Storm Opong (international name Bualoi) at around PHP400 million.

"We have a quick response fund under NEA. We're just being transparent about how much the estimated (cost) is so that in case we deplete the PHP200 million at least we're prepared that we need to ask for replenishment on the quick response fund," she told the Philippine News Agency on the sidelines of the Philippine International Nuclear Supply Chain Forum 2025...
