Manila, July 6 -- The number of deaths reported for the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that rocked Mindanao provinces on June 8 has climbed to 92, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Monday.

The latest update is four more fatalities compared to the 88 reported on July 1.

Of the 92 deaths reported, only nine are confirmed to be caused by the earthquake -- all in Region 11 (Davao).

Still undergoing validation or verification as of this time are 83 fatalities -- 12 in Region 11 and 71 in Region 12 (Soccsksargen).

The number of injured remained at 1,316 and missing persons at 20.
