Manila, July 11 -- Seventeen people were reported dead while around 514,700 individuals were affected by the southwest monsoon (habagat) enhanced by Typhoon Inday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Saturday.

The deaths were caused by drowning and landslide, two of which were recorded in Bukidnon; 10 in Malapatan, Sarangani; and five in Calanogas, Lanao Del Sur.

Four were reported injured also due to landslide in Torrijos, Marinduque; Malapatan; and Calanogas.

Nine were reported missing -- three from Malapatan and six from Calanogas.

As of posting time, 14,000 families have been displaced, of which 2,900 are inside evacuation centers.
