Manila, July 3 -- The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) has issued 2,271 domestic adoption orders, 509 adoption decrees and 524 certificates of authority to conduct adoption for intercountry adoption as of June 3.

In a news release Friday, the NACC said 1,086 foster children are under the care of licensed foster parents nationwide. Of the total, 747 receive monthly government subsidies ranging from PHP8,000 to PHP10,000, depending on their medical needs.

Since 2023, the agency said 170 children in Central Visayas have been declared legally available for adoption. Of those, 81 have been placed with permanent families in the Philippines, while 74 remain under the care of licensed foster parents. Overall, 327 children in the region...
