Manila, Feb. 18 -- Mild to moderate eruptions were recorded at the summit crater of Mayon Volcano, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Wednesday.

Phivolcs said the activity was recorded from 7:34 p.m. to 8:35 p.m. Tuesday with continuous lava effusion.

Lava effusion and flows have reached radial distances from the crater, as seen in three major gullies, with Basud reaching 3.8 kilometers (km), Bonga (1.6 km), and Mi-isi (1.3 km).

Mayon Volcano generated eight volcanic earthquakes, 497 rockfalls and 50 pyroclastic density current signals or 'uson'.

Within the 24-hour monitoring period, the volcano emitted 3,217 tonnes of sulfur dioxide.
