Marcos directs agencies to address NLEX traffic gridlock
Manila, Sept. 3 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered concerned government agencies to address severe traffic congestion along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), particularly around the San Simon Interchange, following heavy flooding caused by persistent rains.
In a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and NLEX Corporation are coordinating measures to prevent a repeat of the traffic gridlock during the rainy season.
