Manila, June 8 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) has launched an operation to identify and arrest the driver of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) involved in a hit-and-run incident that injured a member of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG).

The incident occurred along the southbound lane of South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Muntinlupa City on Saturday and was captured on dashcam footage, which authorities are now using to identify the vehicle owner and driver.

The impact caused Pat. Jeric Aya-ay, who was presented during a briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday, to lose control and crash. His motorcycle rolled over several times.

The SUV driver did not stop and fled the scene.
