Manila, July 6 -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has so far revoked or suspended the driver's license of 1,108 motorists since October last year as part of an intensified crackdown against unsafe and irresponsible driving.

In a statement on Monday, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao said the total, beginning since his appointment in October, consists of 618 revoked and 490 suspended driver's licenses.

"Ipinakikita nito ang patuloy na mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng LTO ng mga umiiral na batas at regulasyon ng ahensya (This shows that the LTO continues to strictly enforce road laws and regulations)," Lacanilao said.
