Manila, May 11 -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Monday summoned the registered owner and driver of a Toyota Hilux that went viral on social media over its bright rear-facing auxiliary lamps that blind other motorists.
In a statement, LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao, said the installation of vehicle accessories should never endanger the public.
"Ang kaligtasan ng publiko ay hindi dapat isinasakripisyo para lamang sa porma o personal na kagustuhan (Public safety should not be sacrificed for style or personal preference)," Lacanilao said.
