Manila, Sept. 25 -- he Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is set to review all 3,972 public utility vehicles (PUVs) with franchises to operate along Commonwealth Ave. to ensure sufficient public transport in the area.

In a news release, the Board said franchise holders found to be inactive or not operating will be required to explain through show-cause orders.

LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III said the review is in line with Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez's order to safeguard commuters and ensure PUV franchises are properly utilized.
