Manila, Sept. 24 -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Wednesday issued a show cause order against motorcycle taxi platform provider JoyRide PH over a viral video showing one of its riders allegedly sexually harassing a young female passenger.

In a statement, acting LTFRB Chairman Greg Pua Jr. said the order demands an explanation on why the platform's authority to operate as a Motorcycle Taxi Platform Provider (MTPP) should not be suspended or cancelled.

Pua also directed the MTPP to ensure, during the hearing set on Oct. 6, the presence of the rider seen in the viral video.
