Manila, May 18 -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved a total of 141,724 units of passenger jeepneys and UV Express for the PHP10-per-liter fuel discount, subsidized by the government.

In a statement on Monday, LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II said the total covers all regions and is already active, with 12,688 beneficiaries so far who have registered successful transactions.

"This is proof that the government is still really taking care of the PUV sector despite the improvement of the prices of petroleum products," Mendoza said.
