Manila, Oct. 24 -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved special permits for an additional 847 buses to operate during Undas or the All Saints' and All Souls' Days.

In a statement on Friday, LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II said the special permits have been issued to public utility buses operating in 124 different routes in Luzon, with most of them going to and from terminals and other transport hubs in the National Capital Region (NCR).

"These additional buses will make up for the travel of more passengers on their way to respective provinces to pay respect to their departed loved ones," Mendoza said.

To ensure enough buses, he said the LTFRB would monitor the situation on the ground.
