ILOILO CITY, July 16 -- A new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) facility built by the Isla Group in the municipality of Leganes, Iloilo, is expected to strengthen LPG supply security in Panay and the Western Visayas region.

Energy Secretary Sharon Garin, who led the inauguration of the LPG plant in Barangay Bigke on Wednesday, described the facility as "a vital milestone for Western Visayas."

"Today's celebration reflects the company's continued investment in the country's energy sector and our shared commitment to reliable and accessible energy for every Filipino," Garin said.

She said the Department of Energy is prioritizing the development of a more resilient energy supply chain capable of meeting the needs of Filipino consumers.
