Locals lose in Hilado J60 World Tennis Championships quarters
MANILA, July 24 -- Locals Miguel Ricardo Lagac III and Stefi Marithe Aludo failed to secure semifinal berths in the first leg of the rain-delayed Oscar J. Hilado J60 World Tennis Championship Friday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
Lagac, the country's top U18 player in the boy's division, bowed to Indian Aaradhya Mhasde, 1-6, 3-6, while the fifth-seeded Aludo lost to top seed Yerin Lee of Korea, 6-3, 6-0, in the girl's division.
Mhasde will face second seed Ryu Kotikula of Thailand, a 6-0, 6-4 winner over sixth seed Vivaan Bidasaria of India.
Indians Daksh Kukreti and Ribhav Saroha downed separate rivals to set up a Final Four duel in the event offering World Tennis (formerly International Tennis Federation) points.
