Manila, Oct. 1 -- Senator Erwin Tulfo on Wednesday called on the Department of Health (DOH) to instruct hospitals in Cebu to move the remains of earthquake victims away from public view, citing its psychological impact on survivors and the community.
During the Senate Subcommittee on Finance's deliberation on the DOH's proposed 2026 budget, Tulfo raised concern over photos circulating online showing body bags lined up outside a hospital in Bogo City following Tuesday night's magnitude 6.9 earthquake.
"Parang hindi maganda tingnan... baka pwede pagsabihan natin sila na itago-tago po kahit paano (It does not look good... perhaps hospitals can be told to keep them away from public view)," Tulfo told Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa.
