Manila, Sept. 19 -- A party-list representative filed a bill seeking to create a Green Industrial Zone Program to promote sustainable growth especially in less developed areas in the country.

House Bill No. 3112, or the Green Industrial Zone (GIZ) Program bill, aims to "pursue a development path that is both environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive" in light of the climate crisis, a new release issued Friday by the office of Solid North Party-list Rep. Ching Bernos said.

The program shall serve as the national framework for the development, support and regulation of GIZs and the promotion of sustainable manufacturing and enterprise ecosystems.
