Manila, Sept. 16 -- Abra lone district Rep. Joseph Sto. Nino Bernos has filed a bill seeking to require government offices to use solar energy systems to reduce electricity costs and ensure a sustainable and environmentally sound manner of delivering services to the people.
Filed on Aug, 5, House Bill No. 3126, or the On-Grid Solar Energy Systems bill, mandates the establishment of on-grid solar energy systems in all national and local government-owned buildings and offices.
Government agencies shall also ensure that 20 percent of their average monthly utilization (AMU) would be covered by the on-grid solar energy systems within one year of installation.
