Laguna town project adopts PBBM's waste-to-energy initiative
CALAMBA CITY, Aug. 18 -- The municipality of Calauan has approved the establishment of an integrated sanitary landfill and waste management facility, offering a timely local response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s call for waste-to-energy solutions in his State of the Nation Address.
Calauan Mayor Roseller Caratihan said in a Monday evening interview that Municipal Ordinance No. 03-12-2026, which approves the project's development permit in Barangay Imok, positions Calauan to adopt modern waste management technologies and support the national government's push to update the country's solid waste law.
