Manila, Dec. 11 -- The inflation rate in La Union province slowed to 0.3 percent in November from 1.1 percent in October, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
PSA-La Union chief statistical specialist Danites Tenido, in an online forum on Thursday, said food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have a 56.4 percent share, are among the main sources of deceleration, moving from a -0.2 percent inflation rate in October to -1.4 percent in November.
The downtrend in this commodity was mainly caused by a decrease in the inflation rate of vegetables, tubers, plantains, cooking bananas, and pulses from 26.7 percent in October to -1.8 percent in November.
