Manila, Sept. 16 -- Malacanang on Tuesday said the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and other uniformed personnel must remain apolitical, amid alleged destabilization attempts targeting President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro responded to reports that certain groups are calling on the military and police to withdraw their support for the President in light of recent corruption issues hounding the flood control projects.

Castro said the AFP even stated the military must not be used for political gain or efforts to destabilize the government.
