Manila, Aug. 28 -- Manaoag town Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario has urged his fellow local chief executives to join the call for full transparency, accountability, and justice on flood control projects.
Rosario, provincial president of the League of Municipalities in the Philippines, is the only signatory in the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) from Pangasinan as of Aug. 27 this year.
"We need to stand for this. We believe this needs deeper query and investigation to see the root cause and address it," he said in a phone interview on Thursday, pertaining to the alleged massive corruption allegations in flood control and other infrastructure projects, including the reported collusion between government officials and favored contractors.
