MALASIQUI, July 10 -- The southwest monsoon or "habagat," enhanced by Typhoon Inday, began bringing light to moderate to heavy scattered rainfall to the provinces of Pangasinan and La Union on Friday.

In a phone interview, Pangasinan's Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) emergency head, Pia Flores, reported that the eastern area faces scattered, intermittent heavy rain; the west has light rain; and the center has cloudy skies with morning light rain.

She said that according to the advisory issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration at 5 a.m., Pangasinan, La Union, and other provinces are under a yellow rainfall warning on Saturday.
