Impeachment court takes custody of subpoenaed financial records
Manila, Sept. 7 -- The Senate impeachment court on Monday took control of the handling and distribution of financial records submitted by banks, insurers and investment firms in compliance with subpoenas issued in Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.
Presiding officer Francis "Chiz" Escudero directed the subpoenaed institutions to personally turn over their compliance documents to the clerk of court, which will then provide identical copies to the prosecution and defense.
"It is the court, not the subpoenaed institutions, which shall take charge of distributing copies of the documents to the parties," Escudero said.
