Manila, Jan. 5 -- The local government here is planning to extend the deadline for the renewal of business permits from Jan. 20 to Jan. 31, 2026 without penalties.

Joy Gorzal, spokesperson for Mayor Raisa Trenas, said the proposed extension for the deadline was endorsed to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (city council) on Monday for the amendment of Tax Ordinance No. 2007-016 or the Local Revenue Code of Iloilo City.

She said that based on the existing tax ordinance, the deadline for the renewal without penalty is set every Jan. 20.
