Manila, Oct. 5 -- The Iligan City government has continued with its upgrade and modernization plans that would improve rescue and disaster response. On Wednesday,
Mayor Frederick Siao led the turnover of a Type 1 ambulance, costing about PHP1.5 million, to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Iligan City Fire Station.
"This ambulance will reinforce the needed help for our firefighters, especially if there are times our Iligan City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (ICDRRMO) might be busy responding to other emergency calls," he said.
Siao said that under his term, he has committed to providing additional support to the BFP with allowances and additional budget from the local government.
