Manila, Aug. 8 -- The number of houses damaged during July's severe weather has climbed to 88,492, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday.
The total number is significantly higher than the 73,059 houses reported by the disaster response agency on Wednesday.
Of the 88,492 affected houses nationwide, 9,707 are classified as "totally damaged" and 78,785 as "partially damaged," the NDRRMC said.
Region 1 or the Ilocos Region reported the most number of damaged houses at 81,983, of which 73,295 are "totally damaged" and 8,688 are "partially damaged."
Estimated damage to agriculture and infrastructure as of Friday was PHP2,984,143,362 and PHP15,723,471,287, respectively.
