MANILA, Oct. 17 -- The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is now accepting emergency loan applications from members and pensioners in Davao Oriental affected by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake.

GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said this would help government workers and retirees recover from the disaster.

"GSIS remains steadfast in its mission to care for government workers and retirees, especially in times of crisis. We are here to help our members and pensioners recover and rebuild," Veloso said.

The application period is open until Dec. 14.
