Manila, Sept. 22 -- The Marcos administration is planning to establish five rainwater impounding facilities in Metro Manila as part of its efforts to reduce flooding in the country's metropolis, particularly during the rainy season.

The proposal was presented during a recent meeting presided over by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) said on Tuesday.

Recto said the facilities are proposed to be constructed at Camp Aguinaldo and Miriam College in Quezon City; Remedios Circle and Rajah Sulayman Park in Malate, Manila; and the ASEAN Garden at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex (CCP) in Pasay City.
