Manila, Aug. 8 -- Several parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced floods due to heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon, but the water notably subsided in 15 to 30 minutes once the rains stopped, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported on Saturday.

"May mga areas na nakakakita ng mga pagbaha na hanggang gutter-deep, pero nagsa-subside po kaagad kapag tumigil ang ulan (There are areas experiencing gutter-deep flooding, but the water subsides immediately once the rain stops)," MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III said in a Radyo Pilipinas interview.
