Manila, Aug. 4 -- Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. on Monday said the Philippine Navy's first-ever joint patrol with the Indian Navy is about to end without a hitch.
The activity started Sunday and was wrapping up as of posting time.
"So far, maganda ang results (the results are good). We have met our objectives for the exercise," Brawner said in a chance interview.
In a statement on Aug. 1, Brawner said the "first of its kind" joint patrol with the Indian Navy would be held in the West Philippine Sea.
"Wala tayong na-experience na (We did not experience) untoward incidents," he said on Monday.
Several Chinese vessels reportedly "shadowed" the joint patrol but it was expected, he added.
