Manila, Sept. 18 -- The European Union (EU) is set to provide PHP10.9 million in humanitarian assistance to Filipino communities affected by recent monsoon floods that inundated several parts of Luzon.

The EU Delegation in Manila on Friday said the funding will benefit over 32,000 people in some of the hardest-hit areas, including Ilocos Region, Central Luzon and Metro Manila.

"The EU and its Member States are the world's leading donor of humanitarian aid," it said.
