Manila, Jan. 10 -- Two more persons died during the Traslacion or the grand procession of Jesus Nazareno, bringing the total to four, a Quiapo Church official said Saturday.

In a press conference at the Pope Francis XVI Bldg., Nazareno 2026 spokesperson Fr. Robert Arellano asked the faithful to pray for the eternal repose of their souls.

"It is really sad on our part that we have these kinds of incidents," he said.

He noted that it was the longest Traslacion at 30 hours, 50 minutes and 1 second, while also luring the most number of participants at 9.6 million for a period of 10 days.

"Based on what we always give every year ... it includes the novena masses that starts Dec. 31," Arellano said.
