Manila, Oct. 22 -- The EDSA Busway will shift to a fully cashless fare system by December, acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said during an inspection of the rehabilitated Monumento EDSA Busway Station on Wednesday.

Lopez said he has directed the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to require bus operators and consortiums to provide an automated fare collection system (AFCS) before the year ends, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to offer hassle-free payment options.
