Eastern Samar town distributes bicycles to students in remote villagesv
TACLOBAN CITY, July 22 -- The local government of Dolores, Eastern Samar, on Wednesday distributed 100 bicycles to deserving high school students living in a far-flung village in a bid to improve access to education for learners in remote communities.
The recipients under the local government's "Pedal Para han Kabubwason" (Pedal for the Future) program are students from Barangay Hinolaso and nearby villages who regularly travel on foot to and from school.
Barangay Hinolaso, an interior village along the Dolores River, is located more than 30 kilometers from the national highway. Many students from the village and neighboring communities walk for hours daily to attend classes at Hinolaso National High School due to limited transportation...
