Manila, June 20 -- Filipino wild card Alexandra Eala marched to the Berlin Open semifinals after a stunning 6-3, 6-4 victory over world No. 8 Elina Svitolina in the WTA 500 event on the grass of the Steffi Graf Stadium in Germany on Friday.

She will next face Czech Linda Noskova, who prevailed over Paula Badosa, 6-1, 6-3.

It will be a rematch of their Indian Wells duel, which Noskova won, 6-2, 6-0.

Eala, the 2025 SEA Games singles gold medalist, ousted world No. 2 Elena Rybakina, 7-5, 6-4, to reach the quarterfinals.

The world No. 35 Eala, coming off a title victory at the WTA 125 Birmingham Open, made it to the second round after beating HSBC Championships (Queen's Club Championships) champion Donna Vekic, 7-5, 6-4.
