Manila, Sept. 9 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released 643,386 family food packs to local government units (LGUs) in the Ilocos Region as of Sept. 8.

Based on data from the DSWD - Ilocos Region, 578,799 were released to Pangasinan LGUs, 38,854 to La Union, 13,309 to Ilocos Sur, and 12,424 to Ilocos Norte, to augment ongoing relief operations since Aug. 5.

The distribution of family food packs to affected families is ongoing.

Teresita Valdez, a resident of Minien East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, said she is thankful for the family food pack.
