DSWD distributes aid as 'habagat' hits Davao Region
DAVAO CITY, July 16 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 11 (Davao Region) bared Thursday that the southwest monsoon, or "habagat," has resulted in four deaths, five missing persons, and one injured individual.
According to the DSWD's Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center situational report, the weather disturbance has affected 3,936 individuals, or 1,266 families, across 19 barangays in four municipalities.
The habagat also damaged 184 houses across the region.
In Davao Occidental, 907 families, or 2,763 individuals, across 17 barangays were affected.
The municipality of Jose Abad Santos was the hardest hit, with 874 families, or 2,664 individuals, affected in 16 barangays. All 179 famil...
