Manila, Aug. 4 -- Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian said Monday the agency continues to provide relief aid to families still reeling from the impact of recent weather disturbances.

Thousands remain in evacuation centers in Pampanga and Bulacan provinces, and Malabon and Navotas in the National Capital Region due to safety concerns and persistent high tides that cause flooding.

"There are still pockets of areas that are still inundated by floods because of high tide. There are still families in evacuation centers. We will see to it that we work with the local government units (LGUs) in trying to get more relief into these areas," Gatchalian said in a televised interview.
