DSWD-6 prepares P178-M standby funds, stockpiles for calamities
ILOILO CITY, June 5 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Western Visayas (DSWD-6) is ready with PHP178.27 million worth of standby funds and stockpiles to augment local government units during disasters and calamities.
The preparations were presented during the Disaster Response Management Group meeting, where the discussion focused on the anticipated impacts of El Nino and La Nina, ongoing preparedness initiatives, and strengthening response mechanisms across the country.
Data from DSWD-6 on Friday showed that the regional office has, as of June 3, PHP3 million in standby funds, 187,450 family food packs valued at PHP113.26 million, 34,812 ready-to-eat food boxes worth PHP29.29 million, and PHP32.72 million worth of ...
