Manila, Aug. 20 -- The ongoing payout of social pensions for qualified senior citizens in Bislig City, which began Aug. 18 and runs until Thursday, is set to benefit 5,162 recipients, providing crucial financial support for their daily needs.
"The release of the social pension covers the third quarter of this year, with each beneficiary receiving PHP3,000," said Stephane Joy Flores, information officer for the social pension program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Caraga (DSWD-13), in an interview Thursday.
She emphasized that the PHP3,000 cash assistance is intended to help seniors meet basic necessities during the quarter.
