Manila, March 20 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Davao Region (DSWD-11) is celebrating the 75th founding anniversary of the agency this month with a renewed commitment to strengthen social protection services and programs for the poor, vulnerable and marginalized sectors.
Michelle Franca, DSWD-11 information officer, told the Philippine News Agency on Friday that part of the agency's efforts are ongoing construction and improvement of centers across the region.
"This includes expanding bed capacities in our home for the aged, the reception study center for children and Angel's Haven," Franca said.
Angel's Haven is for bedridden and semi-ambulatory children with varying degrees of disabilities.
