DPWH restores 15-ton load limit on Southern Leyte's vital bridge
TACLOBAN CITY, July 8 -- Bigger and heavier vehicles can now pass the Liloan Bridge in Southern Leyte after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) raised the bridge's load limit from five tons to 15 tons after rehabilitation works.
The increased load limit comes more than a year after motorists and commuters endured travel disruptions caused by restrictions imposed on the bridge due to structural damage.
DPWH Eastern Visayas Regional Director Edgar Tabacon said in a statement on Wednesday that the bridge can accommodate two-way traffic following the completion of shoring works, stabilizing its structure.
